Angela 2 console

... reinstates the legendary product name to a new console.

The original ANGELA was introduced in 1982 and was in production until 1993. Over 500 consoles were manufactured during this period - approximately one every week for more than one decade.

Then success of ANGELA was based on its much-loved microphone amplifier and EQ, and also the extreme flexibility of its signal paths and routing systems. ANGELA was the first console to incorporate a true dual-path input module.

These pioneering ideas have been developed even further in ANGELA II.

Unlike traditional in-line modules which have limited facilities in the monitor section, the two input paths each include not only fader and mute automation but also identical comprehensive 4-band equalization. Denoted Channel and Mix, the two paths provi

Console operation has thus been simplified in the light of changes in recording techniques - such as the introduction of MIDI-driven sources - which may require many more inputs to the console. The ANGELA II chassis holds 40 modules, providing a total of 80 inputs.

Practically speaking, sources of all types including Effects, Sound Module and Sampler outputs can be permanently connected to the inputs, reducing the need to repatch the console with each change of project. This saves time and avoids operator confusion as input sources always remain the same.

A comprehensive on-board TT jackfield is included.

Automation in the original ANGELA console was an expensive optional extra. AMEK SUPERTRUE automation is an integral part of ANGELA II, with faders, mutes and even solos on all input paths under full computer control. With over 1000 installations worldwide, this software has a proven track record.
