The system's innovative design philosophy centres
around three key elements: a 32 bit floating-point DSP core, a highly
flexible chassis design and a fully modular I/O system. This allows the
DMS to be configured to any chassis size, shape, and system configuration
to match the desired functionality and application required. Another
vital aspect of the DMS is that all elements can be expanded at any
time, allowing the system to grow with the client's needs.

The DSP Core is the main digital 'engine' of the system, and is a
large array of parallel 32-bit floating-point processors capable of
very high speeds of operation.
If you begin with a small configuration of DMS, you can expand the
system at any time in the future simply by adding more DSP modules
to increase the system's input capability or bussing structure for
example, or by adding chassis and control modules to increase the
physical size and functionality of the console.
