Device Setup


This data sheet is intended as a general guide to setting up devices for use with VFX on Supertrue and Showtime systems.

DEVICE SETUP : Refers to the settings of device using the menus and functions.

VE_SETUP : Refers to the setting up of the VFX system using the "Selected Units" list in the VE_SETUP.EXE program. See the Visual Effects Using Guide for full details on setting up and using Visual Effects.

PCM70 V1.01

Set Midi Channel (Control Program 7.0 - Parameter 1.0).

Set Midi Program. to a no. between 0 and 49.
A Delay of 4 is usually needed for this device.

PCM80 V1.01

DEVICE SETUP
From the Control Program :
Set Midi_Channel.
Set Midi Program Change to Map.
Set Midi Sysex Receive to ON.

VE_SETUP
In the VE_SETUP program, or within the MIDI dialog of Supertrue, set the Midi_Channel to that set above. Device No and Sub Device No. are not used. Delay is set to 8. Midi Program must be set to a number between 73 and 111.

DEVICE SETUP
Set MIDI Channel from the front panel.
Set Spec No. 110 (TC Device No.).
Set Spec No. 8 (Preset Protect) to a number greater than 80.
Set Spec No. 2. (Sysex Receive) to 0 (Enable).
Set Spec No. 16 (Sysex Keycode enable) to 1.
Press the MIDI enable button on the front panel.

VE_SETUP
Set Midi Channel and Device No. to that set above.
A Delay of 4 is usually needed for this device.
Set Midi Program to a number between 0 and 69.

M2000 V1.02

DEVICE SETUP
All VFX Presets are downloaded to the Combined Engine of this device. MIDI Setup is as Follows :
DEVICE: Utility/MIDI menu.
MIDI INPUT : Engine1 : Engine2 : Midi_Channel.
(Midi_Channel is the number you put into the ve_setup).
(Engine1 and Engine2 midi channel can also be set to receive program changes, but they must be distinct from Midi_Channel).
SYSEX ID: Sysex ID (This Number is put into the Device No. slot in the ve_setup).
PRGBANK: Engine1 : Engine2 : RAM
(Engine1 and Engine2 can be set to either here, but the Combined Engine must be set to RAM).

Due to non-sysex support of the reverb Expert selection, the device must also be set up with 2 RAM Based Preset Reverbs. This is done in the following way: Recall Engine1 ROM Preset 1 (M200- Hall). Press the EDIT button and page through the parameters until you are over the EXPERT MODE button. Press the OK button to select this. Store this new Edited Expert Reverb in RAM Preset 1.

Repeat this process with ROM Preset 3 (Very Big Hall), storing it in RAM Preset 2.

VE_SETUP
In the VE_SETUP program, or within the MIDI dialog of Supertrue, set the Midi_Channel and Device Number to that set above. Sub Device No. and Delay are not used. Midi Program must be set to a number above 2, otherwise the newly created Expert Reverb Programs would be overwritten by your Performance presets!

M5000 V1.03

DEVICE SETUP
From the Utility Menu:
Set MIDI Input Channel.
Set TC Device No.
Set Sysex Receive to ON.

VE_SETUP
Set Midi Channel. to that set above.
Set Device No. to the position of the Effects Card within the M5000.
This usually defaults to 1.
Set Sub Device No. to the TC Device No. set above.
Midi Program is not used for this device as storage of edit buffer/presets is not supported in the sys-ex.

M5000D V1.02

M5000 as above, with DYNAMICS option sub-card.

Midi Program Must be set to a number between 51 and 99.

SPX990 V1.02

DEVICE SETUP

Map each program in the Table 1-1.

VE_SETUP
Set Midi Channel. to that set above.
Set Midi Program. to a no. between 51 and 99.
A Delay of 4 is usually needed for this device.

SPX1000 V1.03

DEVICE SETUP
Set Table Midi Channel.
Map each program in the Table 1-1.

VE_SETUP
Set Midi Channel. to that set above.
Set Midi Program. to a no. between 41 and 99.
A Delay of 4 is usually needed for this device.


Eventide

H3000 V1.00

DEVICE SETUP
Press the function key 3 times :
set all base midi to midi channel.
set midi receive to ON
set sequencing to ON

VE_SETUP
Set the midi channel to that above.
Device number, sub-device number, and delay are not used.
Midi program is not used.
