Clearance Sale! Everything must GO!

Slippery Studios, in the Hollywood Hills, is a multi-purpose recording studio, that was very successful until its owners and users moved to England and other far distant points.

The studio has been used for commercials, record albums and film music. The studio was built by Larry Belling who, for many years, wrote, produced and recorded hundreds of radio and television advertising campaigns. His business partner, James Guthrie, producer of Pink Floyd and many other bands, also needed a place to work, and he designed an audio approach that many engineers agree is one of the best sounding rooms in Los Angeles.

Guthrie chose the AMEK G2520 as his primary mixing console. He feels it is one of the most musical sounding desks in existance with the best EQ. Because it would be used for film music, he designed modifications that enable it to record and mix six track dolby stereo.

Sure enough, one of the first clients for Slippery was the noted film composer Michael Kamen. He recorded overdubs and mixed soundtracks for such films as Die Hard, Die Hard II, Robin Hood, Lethal Weapon and others there. He also did work on his solo album on which Eric Clapton and David Clayborne visited the studio and recorded there.

James Guthrie, besides doing overdubs and editing work for Pink Floyd, also recorded and mixed his own album project at Slippery. Belling recorded radio advertising campaigns for American Express, Molson Beers of Canada, Greenpeace, African Wildlife Foundation, Universal Television and spots for all the major motion picture studios.

The desk and all other studio gear complete with wiring looms is for sale. It is a total solution that could be up and running in another location in a matter of days.
