The D.I.B. or "Driver-in-a-Box" actually comprises eight separate Line-In/Line-Out transformer coupled LINE AMPLIFIERS.

Inputs are 10k ohms bridging, balanced and floating. Outputs are similarly balanced and floating and have a low source impedance designed to feed loads ranging from open circuit to below 100 ohms.
With a 600 ohm load maximum output level is more than +26 dBu.

The D.I.B. is primarily a unity gain device, providing immaculate drive for long audio lines. However, limited gain control is provided to enable output levels to be trimmed to different levels from the same source when used as a Distribution Amplifier or, of course, enabling different input levels to be trimmed to provide equal output levels from each of the eight channels.

A high resolution LED bargraph meter is provided for each of the eight channels.

Connections are provided so that an external Fader can be connected to each channel.

The input circuits, normally bridging, are alternatively configured so that inputs can be used as very low noise balanced buss mixing inputs.

A unique button labeled "SILK" introduces a single sided transistor driven transformer circuit which emulates the sound of my original designs.

The D.I.B. is an extremely versatile unit which will find application in many Studio situations where a robust, totally transparent isolating, leveling or line driving amplifier is required.

When included in a digital sound path or added to the output of other equipment of questionable performance, the D.I.B. has the astonishing effect of making the resulting sound much more "musical".

The D.I.B. can be used as the heart of a "do-it-yourself" mixing system. If you really want that "Original" sound, use the SILK button !

Used as part of a system with the C.I.B. the possibilities are considerable.
