Pixel snowflake
The snowflake is of similar construction to the icicles and starburst. I have used white pvc electrical trunking cut into strips the same width as the square silicone tubing. Three pieces were used to form the main six spokes and super glued in the middle. 12 smaller pieces of pvc were glued to the back of these spokes to form the snowflake wings.
As can be seen in the images the led strip were cut into individual single leds and spaced further apart. All of the connections are made using enameled copper wire from an old transformer. All of the data wires are connected on the front of the snowflake. The power wires are all brought around to the back and connected there. Low modulus neutral curing silicone sealant is used to seal the ends and also the centre of the tubing (image 2).
After sealing the back of the snowflake a piece of pvc off-cut was stuck on to protect the wires as these elements are mounted on a brick wall (image 3).
